Insight: Back in 2020, Harry Styles (formerly part of One Direction ..probably the world’s biggest boyband ..if you didn’t know) wore a JW Anderson knitted cardigan for one of his performances. This was widely loved and instantly, we all wanted to make our very own, resulting in both, knitted and crocheted versions depending on your skillset.

Idea: I know how to crochet and I’m a Harry Styles fan …need I say more?

Execution: JW Anderson, the designer behind this now iconic cardigan, embraced the trend and social media frenzy at the time by commissioning knitwear and crochet designer Ruth Herring to write a pattern for a hand knit version which he now generously offers for free on the JW Anderson website which you can find here. This made life a little easier now that there was a guide out there to follow. This took months of commitment as I still had to balance out real life but it was worth it!

I would like to make a public apology to all my friends who have to hear me say “I look like Harry Styles” whenever I wear it.
