Insight: McLaren Racing always seem to get it right. From their playful tone of voice to their drivers’ personalities shining through, they’re a fun and trendy brand. During the peak of Covid, fans couldn’t attend races so McLaren launched “Home Fest” for their home Grand Prix at Silverstone as a way to connect with fans and provide them with a memorable experience at home. They went all out with essential fan kits, DIY bunting, recipes, Spotify playlists, and even building our very own paper F1 car. They definitely didn’t hold back, making Home Fest 2.0 a memorable event for fans across the globe.

Outcome: The moment I spotted the paper car model, I knew I had to join in. Who wouldn’t want a mini F1 car? I saw this as an exciting challenge and it turned out to be the most satisfying model that I’ve made. I did not expect it to be as difficult as it was! Not even three years of model-making in architecture prepared me for this. However, it was a great task and Gino Morales did a wonderful job preparing the instruction guide and the building pieces.

Additionally: We were provided with printables of bunting, our very own Home Fest ticket and signed driver cards.
